Art Thursday: Lindsay Sterling’s Transcendence

Posted: July 31, 2014 by Isaac Cross in Art

For this week, I decided to share with you all some music from one of my favorite artists, Lindsay Sterling. This is actually an older song of hers that she had previously made a music video for, but she decided to remake the music video in collaboration with a really truly awesome and inspiring group called the “Landfill Harmonic”. I love music, I love the video, and I love the message. Be sure to watch all the way through Lindsay’s little speech at the end.

I Guess I Have To Start Reading Again

Posted: July 31, 2014 by Isaac Cross in Uncategorized

Unless anyone out there wants to be a dedicated book reviewer for me. (Free books, anyone?)

Since I posted about my upcoming review of “More Than Two”, I have been contact my multiple publishing and publicity companies asking me to review books by their authors as well. Some fiction, some non-fiction.

On the one hand, that’s awesome. My website is enjoying enough traffic (about 11,000 page views and 8,000 visitors per month) that it is getting attention from people who would like to take advantage of that traffic. And that’s awesome, but…

The thing is that I already have a growing pile of books to read that I never seem to find the time (or attention) for, much to the aggravation of the people who keep buying me those books. On the one hand, this might get me motivated and reading again, but it also might just put me farther behind.

So seriously, if anyone out there likes reading and can articulate a coherent opinion on the things they read, I would love to add you as a new author to the site and forward all the free e-books to you.

Holy Mötley Crüe! This is going to be a crazy trip. I am super excited, but I can tell I am going to go through a case of Monster Energy, at least, during this visit. This is, by far, the most ambitious trip that I have done so far. Fortunately, I will have help.

OK, I will be in town from the morning of December 4th, through the morning of December 14th. Here is my agenda for the week, so far. The things in red are the things I am presenting.

Again, if any of you are in the Bay area and know of fun things to do, or want to have lunch or something, let me know (Cross@xcbdsm.com). Meeting and talking with local people is at least 60% of why I travel like this, so hit me up. (more…)

Book Review Inbound

Posted: July 29, 2014 by Isaac Cross in Uncategorized

I just received an advance copy of More Than Two: A Practical Guide to Ethical Polyamory by Franklin Veaux and Eve Rickert, which will be released to the public on September 2nd. Click on the link above to pre-order.

I am a big fan of Veaux and have reviewed his work before. I was very excited to hear that they wanted me to review the book and look forward to reading it.

Expect the review to be posted in the next couple weeks. I will read it as fast as I can so that you all have plenty of time to pre-order.

Announcement – SF in Dec

Posted: July 29, 2014 by Isaac Cross in About Me, Events, Life Log

Just confirmed, I will be visiting San Francisco, CA this December to teach a series of classes. Possibly at  multiple venues. I am most excited about a full-day intensive I will be presenting at the Citadel on the topic of “Effective and Affectionate Dominance”.

Any of you from that area can look for me from Dec 4-14. I plan to attend a ton of events while I am in town, from munches to parties. If you know of anything going on that week, be sure to let me know. I would also love the chance to meet up local folks for lunch or to do something that an out-of-town person like me might not think to do. Send me an email! (Cross@xcbdsm.com)

I will have a more detailed and descriptive announcement when all the details are finalized, but for now, I just wanted to give everyone out there a heads up that I am on my way!

The following article, including footnotes, was originally published at RemedialRopes.com, which is an awesome educational project created by Stefanos and Shay, and has been re-posted here with permission. Please visit the site and support their work.

Let’s start with an easy one- here’s a statement I hope we all recognize as bullshit: “Only skinny people can be suspended!” With me so far? Ok. Now, here’s what I sometimes hear as a counter to that particular piece of bullshit: “Anyone of any body size can be suspended!” Unfortunately… also bullshit. It’s a pit of snakes! Let’s jump in! Here are some quick answers from to questions that I have received.

Or… In some cases, questions that someone asked in my general vicinity or somewhere on the internet. But I am answering them here, because that’s where I am.

The questions have been paraphrased or otherwise edited down to the essential details. (more…)
