Who’s the Master around here?

Posted: September 10, 2010 by Isaac Cross in Advice, Featured Posts, Learn Something, Philosophy

“I am not a Master because I say so, but because people older and wiser than me have said so” -Master Skip Chasey

Those words stuck with me. It was one of the first classes I ever attended on a BDSM topic. The title was “The Servant Master” and it was, and still is, one of the most influential and memorable events of my life.

It is nothing new, but recently my attention has been drawn to the ongoing frustration that many members of the community feel in regards to new (and usually young) individuals who choose to use the word “master” before their name. As I have participated in these discussions, I have done a lot of thinking on the matter and decided to go ahead and write about it.

Review: xxxcupid.com :: SCAM ALERT!

Posted: August 31, 2010 by Isaac Cross in Reviews, Reviews (Web)

Edit: This review applies to xxxcupid.com, xxxmatch.com, and sexsearch.com They are nearly identical sites run by the same parent company.

UPDATE 7-27-11
A new site in this family, socialsex.com, has an interesting new addition to its terms of use:

Online Emissary™ Feature. socialsex.com may, at its discretion, cause or allow You to be contacted by one or more Online Emissaries as a part of socialsex.com’s Online Emissary™ feature.
14.1 An Online Emissary™ may be a real person, such as another socialsex.com Member, a digital actor, an avatar or a synthespian (e.g. a computer generated “person” or “character”). Online Emissaries may be employed by socialsex.com or a third party to enhance Your online experience. For example, an Online Emissary™ may provide an electronic introduction to new or existing socialsex.com features or functionality.
14.2 Online Emissaries may also provide to You, or enable You to receive, digital introductions to all Members. Online Emissaries may also be employed to enhance online relationships, encourage active participation in socialsex.com or discourage inappropriate behavior
14.3 An Online Emissary™ may be a current or past socialsex.com Member, an independent contractor, a digital creation, You or a digital representation of You.

Apparently these companies have had enough complaints about fake people that they now include a section notifying you that they may use “online emisaries” to “enhance you experience”.

Translation: Make you think you are actually getting somewhere with their service and continue to pay for nothing.

And just for funsies, I signed up for an account and when I clicked the validation link in my email, gues where it took me…

xxxmatch.com

How did I not see that coming? Oh wait, I did.

end update.

So, one of my favorite free porn websites is xvideos.com

I have found lots of great ideas for scenes from watching some of the creative work that has been posted there. Recently, they started promoting a side project called xxxcupid.

So, I went ahead and created a profile to test out the limitations of this “free” dating site. Read the rest of this entry »

A Wonderful Weekend in Review

Posted: August 23, 2010 by Isaac Cross in Events

They don’t call it the land of the midnight sun for nothing.

We were just leaving the “Sinner’s Dinner” on the last night of the convention and walking back to our hotel. And as the sun set into the sea in the West, I observed aloud, “Holy shit, it’s 11:45!”

This has been an incredible weekend. I will focus on the professional bits here and leave the naughty details of the play party for another venue. Read the rest of this entry »

Headin’ Out

Posted: August 19, 2010 by Isaac Cross in Events

We are leaving in about 12 hours for Alaska.

My wife and I will be presenting at Northern Exposure 2010 this weekend in Anchorage. We are very excited and looking forward to finally meeting all the wonderful people who have been organizing the event for many months.

We are presenting 4 classes in total, all of which can be found on my workshops page on the right. They are:

– Friday – BDSM Ethics and Etiqutte

– Saturday – Scene Negotiation

– Saturday – Defining and Refining Your Role as a Submissive

– Monday – Play Piercing Basics*

*The last class will be presented at the Last Frontier Men’s Club and is not part of the conference

I will certainly be posting over the weekend and letting you all know how it went.

See you when I get home.

Limits of Safe Instruction

Posted: July 27, 2010 by Isaac Cross in Learn Something, Philosophy
A few days before posting this, I posted about a new way of doing needles that I had tried out. During the discussion of that (on another site), I was accosted by a group of pro-piercers who felt that it was inappropriate for me to teach less-than-sterile methods of teaching in my classes.
But the thing is, regardless of what may be the “safest” way to do something, do we have to accept that as the “correct” way of doing it? And furthermore, do we need to insist that people use it and prohibit the instruction of any other method?

New Piercing Method

UPDATE 7/26/10: In response to questions I have been receiving: The needle was removed from the sterile packaging immediately before the piercing, manipulated using medical tools, and inserted into skin that had been cleansed. I took all appropriate precautions to ensure that the procedure was safe to my standards. But let’s be clear. No piercing is 100% safe, no matter what lengths you go to. There will always be risk of infection, scarring, nerve damage, pain, bleeding, and bruising. Everyone must determine their own Risk Profile. This scene was within acceptable levels of risk for both myself and my bottom.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled post </update>:

Wow, I had some fun last night. I’ve been itching to try something since Thunder a couple weeks ago.

I saw a presentation on “Needles for Bondage” by Tony Buff and Derek Desilva. http://www.tonybuff.com

One of the techniques he presented was bending the needle to create a fishhook shape. It gave me an idea, which I shared with them later that day, to use a similar technique to create a corkscrew shape.
