This book did so much more just add words to my existing knowledge and experience, as I had expected. This book taught me things. This book changed the way that I think about relationships. All relationships, not just poly. I have spent the last two days lost in thought, re-evaluating a lot of my own choices and beliefs. And that’s good. That’s what a great book like this should do.

Update 10/10/10: I am been talking with the site owners and I really am optimistic about the site. They are working hard to improve the site and the membership numbers are multiplying rapidly. There is still no cost in site and the features of the site will make it very useful in time. Also, contrary to the comment, they do have a privacy policy which says that you are not required to give any personal information, but if you do, they will not communicate it to any third party.

She was dropped onto the concrete floor in the middle of a large room. Immediately, she felt 20 hands begin to roughly handle her. Squeezing, pressing, rubbing, touching. She made no sound, just lay frozen. Before long, she was picked up onto her feet. She was shoved back and forth across a ring of people. Each one handling her roughly before pushing her off to the next person.

At about 5:45pm tonight. My wife will be abducted from a parking lot in Denver.
I know this because I planned it, enlisted the help of 10 of our closest friends, and set it up.
It is a fantasy she’s had for years and tonight it is coming true.

Within the Leather/BDSM culture, there is a tradition that dates back to at least 1965. While it took different forms in different parts of the country, there has been some form of documentation found to support the existence of this tradition in almost every major city where a Leather sub-culture existed.
The tradition basically states that, with the exception of boots and belts, you are not permitted to wear leather unless it has been given to you by someone more experienced. The leather is usually given after you have “earned” it through some sort of milestone in your development, such as a particularly challenging scene or the mastery of a particular skill.
Cross’s note: I recently posted about the topic of reconciling my faith kink and polyamory. And it’s one that I continue to research and think about on a regular basis.
I don’t accept any religeous teachings as truth based solely on the source of the information, including the bible itself. It is too easy for this world to corrupt truth and disseminate lies. I find rational thinking and critical examination to be a much more reliable path to faith and to all things virtuous in the world.
But for one to rely on those things, it is critical that they be able to maintain an open mind and always accept that they may be wrong. To that end, when I see writing that makes me think about things in a new way. I will seek to post it here.
