“More Than Two” Review Coming Soon

Posted: August 21, 2014 by Isaac Cross in Reviews, Reviews (Book)

I just finished reading my advance copy of More Than Two: A Practical Guide to Ethical Polyamory by Franklin Veaux and Eve Rickert, which will be released to the public on September 2nd. Click on the link above to pre-order.

I will be writing two separate reviews of the book. One for this site and one for ModernPoly.com but the quick and dirty reaction is that I am absolutely 100% in love with this book and foresee buying many copies to give out to people over the next several years. The book is absolutely incredible. I highly recommend pre-ordering the book so that you get it right away.

Sacred Kink: The Eightfold Paths Of Bdsm And Beyond

(Click Image to View Amazon.com Product Information)

Inspired by Raven Kaldera’s The Eightfold Path to Altered States of Consciousness, which is reproduced in the Appendix, Lee Harrington clearly draws from Kaldera’s work in Northern Tradition Shamanism and applies it to Sacred Kink. No, I will not be addressing any critics of Kaldera’s Shamanism work, there is a time and place for such shenanigans. This is not it. Also, I do not walk that path so I don’t care.

This is not a book for the beginner spiritual worker, this is not the book for the beginner kinkster. This book is for that delicate, intermediate stage of “I’m past my 101 stage and searching for something more.” or “I wonder if my kink means something more to me than just the sex, so I need some things to make me think.” Many of the concepts mentioned are not for the faint of heart. So you are going to need a grounding in the basics, and then some, before you think about picking this up, spiritually, kinky, and ethically. (more…)

Ever wonder why people in a political party, who are ordinarily diverse and varied, all seem to hold the same opinions when it comes time to vote? Ever wonder why kinky people, who rant about society judging us, all seem to be so judgmental of each other?

Well, there is actually a science to this. Call it peer-pressure or conformity, but it is a fascinating subject either way.

Watch this video. It’s ten minutes long and will make you a better person. And he will tell you why it will make you a better person at 7:10 into the video. But don’t cheat and skip ahead. At about 5:50, start thinking about communities that you are a part of, whether kinky or political or hobby based. I bet you’ll recognize some things.

After you’ve watched the video, read the rest of this post for my favorite parts and a few extra thoughts.

Cross’s Note: Ruby writes some really great stuff over at Pegging Paradise and was gracious enough to let me borrow some of her work. Please visit her website and show some love.

Ruby Ryder is a writer of erotic pegging stories and a blog at PeggingParadise.com. She lives in Southern California and spends her time spreading the word about the singular joys of pegging and working to encourage a more sex-positive society.

Confessions of a Pegger

So what is it exactly that turns my crank when I don a strap-on and peg my guy?

My, my, my…so many things. (more…)

Hang on tight, kids. This is a long post.

Recently, blogger Franklin Veaux created a “Map of Non-Monogamy” which has been circulating around the internet and gaining popularity. Personally, I like it. Visual representations of complex concepts are always helpful. But that said, I do have some criticisms, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Review: PinPointsX.com :: SKIP IT!

Posted: October 7, 2010 by Isaac Cross in Reviews, Reviews (Web)

Another site full of unfulfilled promises. Rating: A Big ol’ “F” Really nothing good here.

To be fair, it is (according to the site itself) still a beta. But you still have to pay to use it and my biggest issues won’t be fixed, I guarantee it. (more…)

Review: FetConnect.com :: Potentially Good

Posted: October 6, 2010 by Isaac Cross in Reviews, Reviews (Web)

Update 11/11/11: Sadly, this site did not survive. I’ll leave the review up for comparison to other similar efforts.

Update 10/10/10: I am been talking with the site owners and I really am optimistic about the site. They are working hard to improve the site and the membership numbers are multiplying rapidly. There is still no cost in site and the features of the site will make it very useful in time. Also, contrary to the comment, they do have a privacy policy which says that you are not required to give any personal information, but if you do, they will not communicate it to any third party.

Rating so far: B- (If there were more members, I would bump it up to a B+) (more…)
